Tips and Tricks for Cleaning Stubborn Stains on Titanium Cookware

Hestan’s NanoBond molecular titanium cookware was designed to work hard. It was crafted to deliver exceptional results in restaurant kitchens and is a favorite of some of America’s most acclaimed chefs. It has been put through the paces of the most complicated dishes and the most stubborn stains imaginable.

Along the way, we have picked up valuable strategies and solutions for dealing with difficult stains including how to handle burnt titanium cookware.

Here are eight of our favorite tips and tricks for cleaning stubborn stains on titanium cookware:

  1. Hestan Stainless Steel Cleaner:  The best choice for stain removal, this cleaner will instantly restore NanoBond cookware to its original titanium brilliance. Click here to purchase.

  2. Don’t be Afraid of Steel Wool: NanoBond titanium cookware has a super dense, scratch resistant surface. It is safe to scrub your pots and pan with steel wool when dealing with stubborn stains.

  3. Discoloration or Bluing: The NanoBond technology protects stainless steel by creating a dense, impenetrable layer. When this technology is working, you may experience a slight discoloration or bluing of the pan. This food film does not affect the performance of your pan and can be easily removed with a soft cleanser or Hestan Professional Stainless Steel Cleaner.

  4. Use a Lemon Wedge: Bluing or discoloration can also be removed simply by rubbing the surface of the pan with the cut side of a lemon wedge.

  5. Soft Cleansers: What the heck are “soft cleansers”? Bon Ami and Barkeeper’s Friend are two that are popular and widely available.

  6. Baking Soda: No cleanser on hand? Make a thick paste of baking soda and water, it doesn’t have quite the same cleaning power as a cleanser or stainless cleaner but will do the trick to scrub out stubborn stains in a pinch.

  7. Dishwasher: NanoBond is dishwasher safe. However, over time, harsh dishwasher detergents may dull the NanoBond finish. To restore its titanium brilliance, use a soft cleanser or Hestan Professional Stainless Steel Cleaner.

Cooking Tips for Titanium Cookware Maintenance:

Stick Resistance

Preventing foods from sticking to your cookware is the first line of defense when it comes to keeping your cookware clean. Stick resistant properties can be achieved by following two key concepts to help guarantee success: correct temperature control and the right fat to create a “barrier” to prevent foods from sticking.

We recommend preheating the pan on medium to medium-high heat then add in the fat of your choice, then add your food and allow it to caramelize and release on its own. For delicate foods such as eggs and fish, we suggest using an emulsified fat like butter or nonstick cooking spray for best results, again allowing the pan to preheat and the foods to caramelize and release on its own.

Sharp Utensils
Metal whisks, spoons and spatulas are safe. However, sharp-edged tools such as forks and knives should not be used, and knives should never be used to cut inside the pan. Knives and sharp forks may damage your cookware.

Match Pan Size to Burner Size
Use burners that are the same size as the pan you are using. Adjust gas flame so that it does not extend up the sides of the pan.

Lower the Heat
NanoBond's tri-ply clad construction with its pure aluminum core is engineered to deliver 35% more heat conductivity than typical clad cookware. You'll find you're able to achieve the same high sear and even cooking using lower heat when cooking with NanoBond.

Unattended Cooking
Never allow your cookware to boil dry, and never leave an empty pan on a hot burner. Cookware may become warped if allowed to boil dry.

NanoBond Cookware Lids
Your NanoBond lids are stainless steel and may scratch if subjected to rough treatment. Never use metal utensils, sharp instruments or harsh abrasives that may scratch the stainless steel lid.

How to Store NanoBond Molecular Titanium Cookware
Go ahead and stack it up, NanoBond cookware is incredibly durable so you don’t need to worry about scratching. The titanium luster is so beautiful you may prefer to show it off and display it on a hanging rack. Just remember to keep it handy, you’re going to want to use it a lot!
